Oranges Cold Storage

The orange industry is the third largest in India after the banana and mango industry. The Mandarin orange is most common among citrus fruits grown in India. It occupies nearly 40% of the total area under citrus cultivation in India.

India produces more than 29 lakh tons of oranges every year. Top orange producing states of India are Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra Rajasthan, Assam and Karnataka. The major varieties of Orange produced in India include Coorg mandarin, Khasi mandarin, Nagpur mandarin and Kinnow.

Sanjay Cold Storage started storing oranges 10 years ago and has stored more than 45,000 tons of oranges since introducing Orange Cold Storage services in North India, New Delhi. We have domestic and imported apple varieties.

Like most fruits and vegetables, oranges will continue to respire and thus gradually degrade after they have been harvested. Since respiration and degradation rates are faster at higher temperatures it is recommended to pre-cool oranges in cold storage for a longer shelf life in retail stores.
